Recently I was fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to pose for Esquire Latinoamerica and needless to say, it was a pretty kick ass experience. As if hanging out in my chones all day isn't fun enough I got the opportunity to chat with Esquire about what's going on in my life and a chance to display how bad my jokes really are. Checkout the interview transcribed in good ole' Ingles from Esquire Latinoamerica.

Esquire: Raven, you have a very unique look, where did your features come from?
I am mixed with Caribbean, Spanish, African, Norweigan and Native American which has resulted in a very different look for me.
Esquire: What age did you start modeling and how did you take your career to new heights?
I started modeling at 16 and my career took a turn when I was 21, I was published in Maxim and was dubbed a "Natural Born Wild Child" by Maxim Indonesia and I guess that's true. I have a rebellious nature and it works for me. After that I had subsequent features for FHM and GQ Magazine.
Esquire: Have you ever shot for Esquire before?
I have not! And to be honest I'm a huge fan of Esquire, I actually get my copies mailed to my home. Even though it's a men's magazine I really enjoy reading all the articles. They help me become a better woman! (laughs).
Esquire: You've quickly gone from model to entrepreneur, how was it to transition behind the camera and developing your production company?
It was challenging and exciting. Our work is all over the world and my creative vision is being seen by so many people which makes me incredibly happy. I interview all sorts of talented people from athletes, ESPN news anchors, super models, actors, and film directors. I'm deeply inspired by all of these incredible humans I get to work with every day.
Esquire: Who inspired you as you entered your career as a model?
I was inspired by Carissa Rosario, Twiggy and Sophia Loren.
Esquire: What is it like working with some of the most talented and beautiful women in the industry?
I love beautiful women and women in general. I grew up with many sisters and my whole life has always been influenced by strong powerful women so it only made sense for me to work with a team of beautiful and talented women. In my productions I want to showcase the sensuality and beauty of women while also empowering them.
Esquire: We heard you once did a photoshoot naked on a bridge, was it comfortable?
Actually yes, I was more afraid of the cars driving under the bridge and falling than I was about being naked. Not only were there cars driving by but there were people watching down below while I was up there and I had to get the shot anyway but it was worth it.
Esquire: Where did you get the name Raven?
My mother thought I would have exotic dark hair and features like a raven, she also loved the poem by Edgar Allan Poe.
Esquire: What do you usually wear to bed?
Socks. Only socks.
Esquire: Swimsuits or lingerie?
I love being in swimwear, I'm an island girl and feel most comfortable in the sand.
Esquire: When do you feel the sexiest?
When I wake up in the morning and I'm drinking coffee before I start my day. I like to sit in my t-shirt or pajamas while I start my day and check my emails and this is always when I feel sexiest, just being me.
Esquire: What's your sexiest feature?
My lips. And my heart. I have a big heart.
Esquire: What would you like to receive for Valentines Day?
Honestly I prefer to give but if I had to choose anything it would be a romantic vacation. I much prefer a weekend alone because that experience means so much more than stuff wrapped in a box.
Esquire: What's your biggest turn on in a man?
I like a man who's aggressive enough to obtain what he wants in life and does exactly what he says he's going to do.
Esquire: What destinations are on your agenda for next year?
Right now I'm thinking of heading to St. Barth in the Caribbean to start my New Year.
Esquire: What is something most people don't know about you?
I have a passion for natural medicine and study the use of plants, herbs and clean healthy eating for healing.
Esquire: What can we expect to see from you in the future?
More wildness. More of the unexpected. More fun. Oh yes and my new blog is launched at www.ravenduran.com
Esquire: And lastly, can you tell us a joke?
Sure... They say that during sex you burn off as many calories as running 8 miles. Who the hell runs 8 miles in 30 seconds?
